The sanding of the plaster is for the walls of my downstairs hall, the wall up the stairs and walls on the landing (upstairs). In about 2 years I expect the Starmix vacuum to be used in a workshop for woodwork. From time to time I am doing some drilling and light chiseling in concrete. I am just doing some renovations to my home and would prefer to buy the tools and do the job myself rather than pay a professional and be without the tools. I am not doing this for a living and am not a professional. Festool sell bags to go in the CT-VA-20 for this - I don't bother, I put on proper 3M breathing mask (can't think of the word in English - with the twist on modules) and empty the bin into a waste sack. The fleece bags protect the filers, make it easy to change bags, but you also will have to empty the separator. Separators do not work perfectly in every situation I'd say use the CT-VA-20 with fleece bags, but I'm sure there will be other advice against this. but even with the Autoclean, at some point you will need to clean out the filters - I use a second vac for that, you don't really want to be getting an airline on it and blowing that fine dust everywhere. If you will be doing a lot, it works better for this sort of work (plaster, concrete) with the black sacks. is this your full time job, or just a few weekends here and there? If it's not too much sanding, stick with the Fleece bags and protect your expensive filters. I really like the option of having a pre-separator and want to ensure that if I do purchase it, it is money well spent and does indeed work well without being jerry rigged.Ĥ - Not so easy to reply - how much sanding of Gypsum?. Finally, I'm going to be doing some sanding of gypsum plaster and was wondering what advice you have? Plastic sack of fleece bag? Use the Festool CT-VA-20 or not?. ![]()
